As part of a project at Bundl, a Corporate Venture Studio, we helped HSBC visualise and prototype possible product futures for EV leasing solutions.
First, we ran through a Design Vision Workshop, in which we aligned with the client team at HSBC on the required features and strategic must-haves for the EV leasing proposition. A smooth activation flow, step-by-step onboarding, billing-sharing capabilities, and an engaging reward system were among the most desired requirements.
From there, we moved into a concept-building phase, where we transformed requirements into inspirational mockups and concrete features. For example, we crafted and designed smart automatic billing features, that use the location of the driver's phones to determine who is driving and for how long, to correctly debit recharge fees and leasing fees across drivers, while granting data anonymity and privacy.
In particular, we reflected on unique features that could only be offered by a bank, granting a competitive advantage against other EV leasing competitors. Together with the client, we crafted instant loan and credit limit features for car-purchase, through an automatic connection between the driver's HSBC bank account and the HSBC leasing platform.
Throughout 3 iterations, we helped ideating, conceptualising, wireframing, and designing over 30 features — a "vision prototype" that helped the innovation team at HSBC to make their strategic intents tangible and clear for internal stakeholders, and to inspire action.
